Quick answer: NBC's cast list has Savannah Guthrie and Craig Melvin anchoring TODAY's 7–9 a.m. hours, Al Roker and Dylan Dreyer hosting the 9 a.m. 3rd Hour, and Jenna Bush Hager and Sheinelle Jones at 10 a.m. (all ET). As of Monday, Oct. 5, NBC has not announced a change to those pairings. Lineups are subject to change for breaking news.

This page reports only what NBC itself publishes about who hosts each hour. A fill-in or absence goes in the table below only after NBC, or two news outlets quoting NBC or the broadcast, have confirmed it. Anything reported by one outlet alone is left out.

Who is hosting TODAY on Friday, Oct. 2?

Hour (ET)ProgramHosts
7–9 a.m.TODAYSavannah Guthrie, Craig Melvin
9 a.m.TODAY 3rd HourAl Roker, Dylan Dreyer
10 a.m.TODAY with Jenna & SheinelleJenna Bush Hager, Sheinelle Jones

The table follows NBC Insider's cast and anchors list, which NBC last updated on May 18, 2026. NBC's weekly lineup release, covering Sept. 28 to Oct. 2, uses the same three hour names. Local NBC stations can carry the later hours at a different time, so check your local listings.

Who else appears on TODAY besides the anchors?

NBC's list also names Carson Daly as a feature anchor who hosts the PopStart segment. Willie Geist leads Sunday TODAY, and Laura Jarrett and Peter Alexander are listed as the Saturday TODAY co-anchors. Those weekend broadcasts are separate programs and are not covered by the weekday table above.

For who is booked as a guest in each hour, see the TODAY Show guests page. The competing ABC hour has its own Good Morning America guest list.

Who fills in when a TODAY anchor is out?

NBC does not publish a standing substitute for each seat. When a regular host is away, another NBC News correspondent or TODAY contributor usually takes the chair on that day's broadcast, and the name is announced on air. Because those substitutions vary day to day, this page does not guess at them. No fill-in is listed here for the week of Sept. 28 to Oct. 2, because none has been confirmed by two outlets.

Has the TODAY anchor lineup changed?

NBC's own cast list is the reference for the regular lineup, and it shows the same hosts for each hour as its weekly release. NBC has not announced a change to the hosts of any of the three weekday hours. Where a host is absent for a stretch, this page quotes the reason only if NBC or the host has stated it, and otherwise says that NBC has not given one.
